New Orleans is undergoing a boom in the business of building drainage systems. Many of the major streets in New Orleans are blocked with construction activity. The older houses of New Orleans are succeptable to damages from vibration and removal of ground water. Many houses in New Orleans shake when a trash truck or city bus drives by. Month after month of pile driving and heavy construction adjacent to these older houses de-stabilizes the foundations and the vibrations can cause structural damage.
Our firm understands the processes used in heavy construction and how these processes affect the foundations of these older homes. We have extensive experience with inspecting houses before and after construction activity to document and report on damages. We also own seismographic equipment that can be placed inside of a home to measure and document vibration. These recorded vibrations can then be compared to normal and acceptable levels of vibration to further prove that the contracting activity caused the damages.
